CHAPTER 1: Thanks to ALL!

Thanks to a generous matching grant from BARD CORPORATION/ ORTHOPAEDIC Division, we have met our goal of $20,000!

We have ordered the instruments, cases, hand reamers, and 70 SIGN nails and they will be manufactured at the SIGN plant in Richland, Washington, and shipped in time for our October 22 mission with Physicians for Peace.

Thank you to all our contributors. This is just the beginning of a great project. Dr. Semere and the Eritrean Orthopaedists are great trauma surgeons. All we need to do is introduce them to modern fracture care, and they will have the power to help families and change the outcome of these devastating road traffic accident injuries.

Stay tuned for future installments covering our preparation, and our trip to Habitet Hospital, Asmara, ERITREA.
